Frequently asked
Answers to the questions participants most commonly ask before and after enrolling in a course track.
About the courses
No prior experience is needed. The courses start from foundational plant biology concepts and build progressively. Someone who has never kept a houseplant will find the early modules clear and accessible. Participants who already have some plant keeping experience will find the structured approach adds depth and context to what they already know.
The courses are self-paced, so there is no fixed duration. The written module content for a single track can typically be read through in a few hours. However, the practical application of care guides alongside actual plants takes longer and is ongoing. Most participants find they revisit specific modules multiple times over several weeks as they work with their plants.
No specialized equipment is required. The courses reference standard items that most plant owners already have - pots with drainage holes, basic soil mixes, a watering can and natural light sources. Where propagation is involved, clean scissors or a knife and small containers are sufficient. The curriculum avoids recommending expensive or specialized products.
Yes. The course materials are accessible through a web browser on any device including smartphones and tablets. The layout adapts to smaller screens. Downloadable care guides are in PDF format and can be saved to your device for offline reference.
Enrollment and access
To enroll, contact us through the inquiry form on the contact page or reach out directly by phone or email. Provide your name, the course track you are interested in and any specific questions you have about the curriculum. We will respond with enrollment details and next steps.
If you have enrolled in a single track and want to add another, contact us to discuss the options. The complete curriculum bundle provides access to all three tracks from the start, which is the most flexible option if you think you may want to explore multiple plant categories.
Course materials remain accessible after enrollment is confirmed. There is no expiry date tied to completing the content within a set period. The care guides you download are yours to keep and use regardless of your access to the online modules.
Course content
The watering module goes beyond basic frequency recommendations. It covers how to assess soil moisture at different depths, how pot material (terracotta versus plastic versus ceramic) affects drying rate, how your home's heating and cooling system changes humidity and therefore watering needs, and how to adjust for seasonal changes. The goal is to help you develop an approach that works for your specific conditions, not follow a fixed calendar.
The tropical track includes care guides for monstera, pothos, philodendron, peace lily, snake plant, ZZ plant and bird of paradise. The succulent track covers echeveria, aloe vera, haworthia, jade plant, sedum and various cacti. The flowering track includes phalaenopsis orchid, African violet, bromeliad, begonia, anthurium and kalanchoe. Additional species reference sheets are included in the complete curriculum bundle.
Yes. The troubleshooting module includes a section on common indoor plant pests - fungus gnats, spider mites, mealybugs, scale and thrips. It covers how to identify each pest, which plants they most commonly affect and practical management approaches. The focus is on identification and appropriate response rather than specific product recommendations.
Yes. The light module specifically addresses how to work with limited natural light, including how to assess what light level you actually have (rather than estimating), which plant categories tolerate lower light conditions and which do not, and how to maximize the light available from north-facing windows. It covers grow lights as a supplemental option but does not require their use.
Qualifications and credentials
The course content is developed with careful attention to plant science accuracy, drawing on established horticultural knowledge. However, these courses are not affiliated with any accredited horticultural institution and do not confer professional qualifications. They are educational materials for personal plant care, not professional training.
The course completion record documents that you completed the curriculum. It is not an accredited qualification and is not recognized by any professional horticultural body. It should not be represented as a professional credential. The courses are designed for personal knowledge development, not for career qualification purposes.
